Desktop Applications

A Desktop Application is a Business software application that is installed on your Windows PC and can communicate with databases, web services or email systems, to accomplish a Business need.

Windows Client or Rich Client is a term than defines any application that runs in your Microsoft Windows computer without the need for a browser.

MS Outlook, MS Excel, Adobe Photoshop, are all examples of Windows Client applications.

The terms are pretty much interchangeable.

If the web experience is not for you or you have needs that supplant the limitations of the user experience of a web client, then Windows Client is the choice to make.

Our staff has over a decade of experience in the development of Windows applications, using both .Net and Visual Basic 6 technologies.

We can engineer an application for you that can be easily deployed and updated over an intranet network, without the problems normally associated with classic Windows applications, that require administrative priviledges and registration of Dynamic Link Libraries.

Whether your applications needs to access a database, web services, remote files, or any other type of functionality, we can help you architect the best possible solution for your particular situation.

Some of the technologies we use are:
  • .Net
  • C# or VB.Net
  • VB 6
  • WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation)
  • Database backends with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (or above) or Oracle 8i (or above)
  • Convert Classic VB 6 applications to .Net
